About Wyrd Story

Hello, I'm David — the dad behind Wyrd Story.

On December 13th, 2024, I became a first-time father to twins, Theo and Chloe. There's really no non-cliche way to say it: life completely changed. Wyrd Story is what grew out of that.

How it began

One night on baby-watch, a book that started everything.

On one of those long nights, I surprised my wife with an art history book featuring the twins as famous works of art. She loved it. So did our parents. In fact, the reaction was so strong that I thought: maybe other families would enjoy this too.

That's when Wyrd Story was born — a way to turn the people you love into a museum-grade keepsake, made slowly enough to matter.

Why it's personal

I wanted to build something that would last.

Before this, I co-founded Hilokal, an AI language-tutor company. But once Theo and Chloe arrived, I wanted to build something more personal — something that brought together my love for art, AI, and family.

Wyrd Story became that project. It's part keepsake, part conversation starter, and part playful way to imagine the futures we see in our kids.

Around the dinner table

Who's more likely to backpack across Europe? Who's destined to win an argument at family dinner? Wyrd Story captures that spirit — the little glimpses of potential we see in our children.
